Planting Fruit Trees campaign update: January to March 2020
Case study: farmers teaching farmers
- Blessings Mkandewiri is a farmer and, assisted by Ripple Africa, has so far planted 500 pine trees, 10 orange trees, 10 tangerine trees, 10 mango trees and 100 guavas. He has done a wonderful job and is very passionate to plant more each year
- This year he is going to be training other local farmers on how to set up a tree nursery and then, subsequently, plant the young trees out
- Every year more and more farmers new to the campaign are being taught by existing farmers, and the standard is very high
