Planting Fruit Trees campaign update: October to December 2017
Focus: Tree planting season is now
- Planting started towards the end of December and will continue until the end of January/early February
- This coincides with the start of the rainy season, which runs from now until April. By planting now, the trees are given the best possible chance to survive until the next rainy season
- Ripple Africa and the forest guards work with each farmer and community to show them how to dig the pits (space is required between the trees), plant the trees, create basins around the trees to collect water, and keep the area around the trees clear
