Planting tree season focus: farmer Esoul
Ripple Africa tree planting coordinator Zikani caught up with farmer Esoul during this year’s tree planting campaign:
- Esoul had raised 1,000 seedlings in his tree nursery and rushed to plant them out following the arrival of the rains
- To save carrying the seedlings, he transports them to his land using a wheelbarrow
- Esoul is extremely proud of his accomplishments and is looking forward to seeing his trees grow
Pine trees provide a sustainable source of timber and firewood and individual farmers are really seeing the long term economic benefit of growing trees for the future.
